Hi !
I'm new here, and I'm French so forgive me if my english is not very good (you can correct me if you have nothing else to do ^^)

This is the first skirt I made, taking the fabric from 2 dresses I never wore because they have always been too small for me. I made the pattern myself  Grin

I made a tutorial here, it's in french but I think it's easy to understand with the pictures. The most important thing to remember if you want to try this tutorial, is that black and red triangles are NOT in the same orientation, you have to return the pattern between the colors (I don't know if it's clear...)

If you have any question, don't hesitate I'll be happy (to try) to answer !

The change in triangle orientation (the red goes one way and the black goes the other way) adds an intriguing interest point. I would never have thought to do it that way.

Do you plan to wear it over pants all the time? I'd like to see it as a skirt by itself!

(And don't even think twice about your English. I can't imagine what my posts in French would be like!)

Oh thank you !!

The change in triangle orientation (the red goes one way and the black goes the other way) adds an intriguing interest point. I would never have thought to do it that way.

Do you plan to wear it over pants all the time? I'd like to see it as a skirt by itself!

In fact, it was an error. I first wanted to cut 8 triangles in the same orientation, but I didn't take care of the orientation of my pattern (it was my first clothe) and when everything was cut, I realised that the black triangles were not in the right orientation. So I tried to make something out of this mistake, and finally I think the skirt is better like that !

I have worn it one time as a skirt, for a party at night but I usually wear it with pants (because I don't like my knees... girls are stupid.)

this is tooo cute!  I've not seen a skirt done quite like that.  Thank u for sharing, i'm going to have to give the tutorial a try!

If you try it don't forget to post pictures, I will be very happy to see what my tutorial becomes in your hands !

It almost reminds me of a pattern by Studio Tantrum (kids clothes) call "Redondo" but for grown up girls! Thanks!

btw, here's a link to show you that skirt http://www.farbenmix.de/anleitungen/nancy/redondo/fotoredondo/redondofotoen.htm
