What weight fabric did you use and was there any kind of interfacing to stiffen the bag? I have some cotton that I want to use because I love the pattern but it wouldn't make for a very durable bag.

very nice, and i love the color scheme and the handle!

i, personally, used a fairly heavy set of fabrics. the houndstooth was a heavier woven, felt kinda like upholstery material or even burlap. The pink was a stretch twill weave (like denim) that was about as heavy as a thin pair of jeans. together, they gave it quite a bit of body on its own. if you're using thinner fabrics, i'd definitely go with interfacing, maybe even a heavy-duty craft interfacing (look for something about as thick as a dime) and just make sure to get fusible for this project, it'll make everything much easier...

I made this today, it's for a swap so just in case my swap partner happens to visit this site I'll post photo's in a few day's once I know she has received hers :-)

BTW I LOVE this pattern, made a few adjustments, forgot to sew in the pockets I cut out... argh... anyway... it was pretty easy :-) I also interfaced mine as I used a lighter material.

i'm so glad you enjoyed making it! i've actually been planning to add "use interfacing if your fabric is floppy" to the main tute, but have completely forgotten every time i sit down at the computer!

i hope your swap partner loves it, and i can't wait to see pics!

If I could buy the world a coke, then I would say "SCREW YOU WORLD" and go buy more fabric.
