My son is going to a girl's birthday party so I have put together a few bits and pieces and have sewn a cute little bag to put it all in (using the same fabric as this lanyard purse).  This lanyard purse is one of the many things I have put in the bag.  It combines a handmade thing with a bought thing (I like that contrast).  It is about 3 inches high x 2.5 inches wide and fully lined.  I made a tab at the top and looped the end of the lanyard through the tab prior to sewing, so the lanyard is permanently attached to the purse.  It's only meant for coins and very little things.  I might even add some beads to the zipper finish it.

I embroidered her name on the purse too:

and for scale:

**EDIT**

I finally finished the whole present.  I purchased a notebook to go inside the bag and when I went to scratch off the price tag, it also scratched the plastic cover - grrrrr.  So, I did what all good Craftsters do and just whip something up to cover it up.....so.....here it is:

Here is the little bag I made to put everything into (kinda like the wrapping paper - only cheaper!!!!).  This is a fab little bag which is a really handy size.  It's basically a lined Jordy that the fabric dimensions to cut are 10" wide by 11.5" high with 1 inch squares cut out at the bottom.  Because I hand stitched the lining opening closed, It is also reversible.

Inside:

And finally......the whole shebang:

**Edit #2**

I really need to stop this project.  But I can't help myself with leftover fabric.  I need to use it up.  I love to make matching things too.  *sigh*.  Anyhow, there is only 6 hours before the party so time will stop me  Roll Eyes  I was going to make a birthday card with my scrapbooking stuff but I thought I would like to make a card using fabric.  This is what I came up with.  A double use thing.  A birthday card that can be reused as a luggage tag. It's about 4 inches high x 2.5 inches wide with a clear plastic pocket with binding at the top.  I put an eyelet through the top of the tag then made a 1/2 inch wide strap that threads through the eyelet and velcros to form the loop.
