I've had this beautiful turtle fabric stashed in my sewing room for quite some time. I finally decided to used it to make my youngest daughter a dress. Didn't use a pattern for this one because I just didn't feel like taking the time to cut out the pattern and read instructions and blah blah blah you know the drill.

There is pleated detail all around the top of the skirt part. I used bias tape for a punch of color and a red metal snap on the back. This was my first dress (non-doll dress that is) and I had fun making it. Will definitely be making more. :]

Great dress!  How long did it take you to figure it all out? She looks like she loves it!

hmm, i'm guessing two hours. And yes, she does love this dress. I think she loves the fact that I made it especially for her.

This is my first piece of real clothing from scratch, but not the first sewn item I've done. I enjoy sewing bags, aprons, blythe clothes and a few other things. :]
