I live across the street from a fabric store (I know, how lucky am I?) and they are participating in the Quilt Pink project. They're asking for people to donate 12.5x12.5 pink/white quilt blocks that they will turn into bigger quilts. I'm not much of a quilter myself, but the project is an awesome idea (the quilts will be auctioned off on ebay with the proceeds going to help fight breast cancer) so I'm going to try my hand at making a few blocks.

If anyone would also like to donate, feel free to PM me and I'll give you my address. They don't have to be fancy blocks, every bit helps!

ETA: This is the excerpt from the local newspaper about the project.

Join the fight against breast cancer for the second annual Quilt Pink Day to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The Fabric Peddler is once again participating in the event and encouraging everyone to create a 12.5 x 12.5 inch pink and white block to be assembled into a quilt. You may drop off your block anytime before September. American Patchwork and Quilting magazine sells the quilts via online auction and donates the proceeds to the foundation. To view and bid on the 2006 quilts or for information on Quilt Pink Day visit www.quiltpink.com.
