Well to make a long story short I made this dress (first clothing item I made with a pattern) over a year ago, I messed it up so I got mad and put it in the back of my closet.

While I was doing a closet purge I found it and decided to get off my lazy butt and fix it. Fixed the hem but it's still a bit wonky.

It's a little hard to see in the pic but theres a little bit that sticks out on the front. I'm thinking about putting a red belt/band thing there to hide it but I can't decide if it looks right, what do you guys think?

And a close up of the fabric because I love it  Cheesy

I like the red belt, but what about a more sash style belt? Wider and kind of scrunched, you know?

I love the dress - looks ok with the sash, though the sticky out bit isn't that noticeable. It looks like the fabric's puckered slightly at that point; maybe a bit of restitching would solve it?

I love the belt/sash. If I had your figure I would make it wider to accentuate my waist more. Great fabric too!

It's gorgeous!
And I agree, the sash accentuates the dress well.

I think the red belt makes it look very nice, it also flatters your figure.

I love this dress!  I think the red belt looks nice with it, but it could use perhaps a buckle?  Or you could simply tie a red bit of fabric around the middle as a sash when you wear it, no sewing involved.  Or, you could just wear it proudly because it looks quite good as it is, especially for a first project!

Thanks for the compliments and advice guys.  Smiley I'll post new photos when I have the red sash added.
