50+ Wash Cloths-along- Active (updated Jan. 2012)

Here's #43- it's Washing Winter Away. It was a fairly simple pattern, but somewhere near the end, I missed a stitch (or added one). I also made it with 30 chains to start since I was using thicker yarn than the pattern called for.



I'll definitely make this pattern again, but I'll need to use stitch markers at the ends of my rows, just to be safe

Here's the picture of my Vanilla Grit cloth! The pattern doesn't show up well in the photo, unfortunately. It's made using the discontinued Beadles (I think that's the name) yarn by Aunt Lydia's. It's cotton yarn wrapped with a polyester thread (I think) and it makes a cloth that has a lot of scrubbing power. I have a small stash of it so I can make myself some cloths using it- so far, both of the ones that I have made have been claimed by my mom. I bought a bunch online and in a close-out store so I have about a dozen balls of it (but maybe less). Once I hit my 50 mark, I'll break out a ball or two and make a couple of my favorite patterns using it.

And, because I am in full-on procrastination mode, I decided to go through the first post and pick out a bunch of non-working links. I didn't check every one. We are on the same wavelength lately!  I took out some cotton yarn to make washcloths and realized that I really was bored with my patterns...I started and frogged about four times before I gave up...I am glad I saw your signature link!!!

I am read to crochet some new washcloths and throw out some of my grubbier ones!

I love my stack of crocheted washcloths. I don't have a particular color scheme in my kitchen right now, so the random, cheery colors of the dishcloths make the task of washing dishes a little brighter.

Thanks! When I went through the list, the first few angelfire links were broken, so I just assumed they all were. And, thanks for catching that duplicate link. Not sure how that happened, or what happened to the original link. I'll see if I can get the links updated soon!

So, instead of watching the Super Bowl yesterday, I decided that I needed to crochet to keep my mind off of the game. I started the Bauhaus washcloth. I've got the inside square finished, and in a little bit, while I wait for some paint (and laundry) to dry, I'll be working on the second color.

And, if all goes well, I'll tote it along tomorrow and work on it between the evening's events. So, I could be done with another one soon! Yay!
