50+ Wash Cloths-along- Active (updated Jan. 2012)

wow, you guys are just buzzing along! I've finished three lately, two are small. I've decided I like them on the smaller size - I have small hands and usually have small drinking glasses to wash. I just bought some of that green and white yarn the other day. CraftADDchick, does that waffle weave have reverse crochet? I just heard about foundation single crochet the other day and haven't had time to take a look at what its all about. I'm sure I'll love it if I can figure it out!

Nope! I don't know how to do reverse crochet. I just haven't taken the time to learn it (or the foundation sc). The waffle weave is done using front and back post stitches (double crochet, I think).

I never did take a photo of the little "sponge" I made. It hasn't left the sink! But, hopefully, after Christmas, I'll have a couple of new cloths to share. Crocheting while waiting for Christmas dinner keeps me from getting antsy

I should also have something else to show by the end of this week - I have 10 days in a row off - woohoo!

I made one yesterday! And, I'm working on another. My mom has to e-mail me the photo of the first one, but I should have the second one done either tonight or tomorrow...

And, hooray for 10 days off in a row!!

ETA: I just finished weaving in the ends on the one I was working on, so I'll take a picture tomorrow. I think I have another quick pattern to try, so I may give that a go right now...

Here are 2 of the 3 that I made- I'll have to wait a while for the photo of first one, I predict; mom is traveling right now.

The first one was Vanilla Grit, which I really liked. Actually, I really liked all 3 of these and they've all been marked as "worth making again."

This next one is the Bumped Shells Dishcloth, and it came out very nice (if I do say so myself ). It's good sized (about 9" square) and has a good weight to it.



The third one, which worked up VERY quickly, is the Woven Stitch Dishcloth. It's small (about 6" square), but it fits in my hand nicely.



I think I made a small mistake in each one, but it's not a big deal. The orange one is for my sister-in-law and the purple one is for my sister. My drawer of dishcloths is currently overflowing.

But, I think this brings me up to 40!!!!

I'm going to visit my sister later this week, and I think I'll be toting some yarn and a few patterns, in case I need a break from learning how to draw...

Here's another! And, I have one more that needs the ends woven in.

This one is the Lattice Stitch dishcloth. I didn't put the border on it, because I was lazy, and my sister didn't mind



If I get the ends woven in on the other one, I'll post a pic soon...

And maybe, I'll start on another one! I love my vacation

But, this will probably be it for at least a week. Five in a week is a record for me However, vacation is just about over, and I have some other things I have to tackle tomorrow...

This one is Paula's Dishcloth. I used some Sugar N' Cream for the variegated, and some Peaches N' Cream for the solid (and, in the process, I realized that both brands are made by the same company in Canada...):



I did somehow manage to forget how to double crochet while making this particular cloth. I was watching TV while working on it, and wasn't paying attention. Once I realized, about 2/3 of the way through, I figured I might as well keep doing it the same way... And, I also didn't read the directions carefully enough on one of the border rounds. Good thing it's only a dishcloth for me!

Ok...so I just started crocheting dishclothes, and also just found this crochetalong and pattern list.  So far I have done 7 or 8 sc textured dishclothes because I was given some cotton, and needed some dishclothes, as well as needing practice crocheting again.  I am excited to try some of the patterns and have someone other than my roommate and my dishes see them.

Welcome, Franstuff! My favorite things about dishcloths are:
A) They are an almost instant gratification project!
B) They make inexpensive gifts!
C) I get to practice new stitches and techniques!
D) If they aren't perfect, it's only a dishcloth!

I finished another! But, I'm too tired to take a picture, so I'll do that in the morning (along with a picture of my completed Special Olympics scarf). I've got a list of 25 things I need to do between now and Monday night. Finishing the dishcloth was the first thing on the list, but I can't let myself check it off until I post it...
