Gizmonic!! I just noticed that you have my cuppycakes in your top 12 favorites made by other people. That totally just made my day!!!  Kiss

They're reeeelllly cute!

And your tute is easy to read.

My crochet skills are pretty much limited to granny squares -- but I think I could give your cakes a try!  Kiss Smiley

That was the first tute I'd ever written. I'm glad to hear that it's well written enough to make you want to try it! Smiley

Wow, everyone! Just wow! I am so impressed by everyone's mad skills! Every cloth posted so far has just been lovely.  Keep up the great work, all!

BTW, should I re-name this to "The Great Dishcloth-a-thon?" lol

I think I'm ready for some knitting tonight.  It'll sooth my restless nerves.  I just can't decide which one to do next!

kbauer -- your cloth looks great, and it's coming along so fast!

Here's mine: (and I'm proud too! Cheesy)

Next up: either an "icy" Grr (since I've still got a LOT of the blue-and-white variegated yarn) or the Papillon Cloth.  I've got a sweater to finish, but these cloths are addictive!

Ah, how true! I'm in the same boat.

I have to say- I tried out my grrr in the bath this morning and I LOVE it! I made it to replace those puffball things. I read that you're supposed to replace those like once a month, and I am waaaay too lazy for that, but I don't like to use normal washcloths in the bath. This was the perfect solution! I'm going to make a bunch more modified grrrs for our bathroom.

Those garterlacs look great! They look almost like watercolor paintings.

Okay, I started  Grrr tonight! I was flusterfucked for awhile there.  So I watched a video at knittinghelp.com and found out its a million times easier to use my index finger rather than my thumb.  I'm doing it Amyb's way... Smiley

I'm using Peaches and Cream's Spring Meadows, size 6 circs.  (I thought I was using 7 this whole time, on all my cloths!).  Its going to be a really fun cloth to work up! I've got the first loop row then a knit row done so far.  I'm beat, so I'm going to bed :-p

I am glad to see everyone is getting this garterlac down.  They all look great, it gives me hope.  When I finish my two dishcloths I am working on right now (the chinese wave and the DW) I will start on the garterlac since that is what everyone else is conquering right now.  On my other set of needles I will start on the Grrrr, I have been eyeing that one since I first saw it.

Question about the garterlac. Kbaur, it looks like you have yours on DPNs.  Is that what you have to use or can you use regular needles?  Is it easier to use DPNs?  I know when I do straps and such where I am only knitting 8 or so stitches across I prefer to use DPNs.

Just a quick drive-by post before I head off to work...

My garterlac progress so far

Spaghetti -- Awesome!  WTG!  Cool

Amyb -- I think I may make Grrr next, based on your testimonial Smiley

Kbauer -- *2 thumbs up*  Cool

Myklia -- you can use your regular sticks for garterlac; dpns aren't necessary.  Not sure if this makes sense but you are knitting across the length of the needles in small sections (8 stitches at a time). Hope that clears it up! Smiley
