OMG, Micol, that Flying Geese looks sooo yummy! I want to make that one even MORE :-p

I did finish my feather and fan, but it came out looking like wrinkles and fan... I'd like to find a better pattern for it :-/

And, gizmonic, that bunny is adorable and parallelograms looks like they were fun to do... so many coloooors

Glad I read all the posts on this thread before knitting the bunny -- a wise Craftster recommended that solid colors would work better than variegated  --  it makes the image stand out. _{(I h8 frogging!)}

Heck yes it was! I'm also crocheting a star afghan for my brother & his wife (they're expecting their first child) in bright rainbow colors.

I'm so glad to see this topic, as I am a washcloth fanatic!  LOL
Seriously, with my knitting ADD, these seem to be the only projects I can finish consistently!
(of course, I've had to purchase multiple sets of sz.7 needles, my fave size for knitting with, and I'm a BIG fan of both the balls & cones from

I finished my first two.



First and first on the list is Feather and Fan. Ta Da.



Next I tried Darrell Waltrip because I wanted to use this yarn.



Mixed feelings on this one. I tried this pattern in the hopes of avoiding pooling. But, the pooling turned into this dang cool diamond pattern.

As for which colorway I used- it is one of a kind. I dyed it myself using the leftover RIT dye from tie-dying T-shirts. I was really pleased with how well the plain white SugarNCream dyed.

My novice-ness is going to show...but...what is pooling?

Pooling happens with variegated yarns. Its when you knit them up and the colors pool together forming blobs and blotches and patterns. Sometimes you end up with really weird things like the white diamonds in my dishcloth. Some people like the crazy designs you can get with pooling. I myself am not really a fan.

Oh, thank you! I'm a big fan of varigated yarn, but have to admit that the "pooling" (look at me using my new word haha) can get a little blah, y'know?

I have done the first 2 in the OP (feather and fan and the Open Star one) - will try to take a photograph of them later on  cos I think they are really pretty.....
