I live in the NYC area and can't find anyone who will miter wood for me so I can cradle my masonite paintings. In college in GA, any frame shop would do it. I live in NJ, I've tried lumber yards, frame shops and home improvement centers. Aside from buying my own saw, does anyone have any suggestions???

Try the handy man, furniture building, remodeling, carpenter, and cabinet installation worlds.  You might have to have some pretty specific instructions.  Other than the yellow pages, you might see what you can dig up among the installation conctractors for places like Sears, Home Depot, Lowes, etc....  If you can find a smaller hardware store, they might know of a contractor type that they will recommend.
