not sure what type of barley soup your looking for, but here is a good one.  my husband who typically doesn't like soup loves this!

barleyburger soup
1/2 pd ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped celery
1 can (18 ounces, 2 1/4 cups) tomato juice
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup uncooked barley

Cook beef and onion until meat is brown, drain fat.  Add remaining ingredients and heat to boiling.  Reduce heat, simmer for about an hour.  2 servings!

Let me know if ya like it!

Thanks for sharing. I'll have to try it. Sounds delicious!

Do you know what tiny little noodle things that look like rice are called? That was in there too.
