I stabbed myself one too many time with the dpns swimming at the bottom of my knitting bag, so I decided to do something about it. I designed it to look like a book so that I can just stick it on the book shelf with all the knitting books.  This is absolutely one of my favorite things I've made (including most of the knitting!)

Great idea! What kind of book/hardcover is it made from? How did you make it? (if you don't mind sharing!)

That is brilliant.  I have been trying to figure out what kind of knitting needle holder to make for myself and would never have thought of that.

It's actually pretty easy, I got the idea from a kit that I got for Christmas to make and bind your own journal.  You just need something hard for the cover (another hard cover book, cardboard, etc.), paper for the cover, and something to cover the binding that's flexible.  Fabric works pretty well.

Great idea! I don't knit, but have been thinking of making the bf's sister-in-law a needle roll for Christmas. I like this idea so much better...I might just have to borrow it  Wink

Thanks guys! I thought about just doing a needle roll, but I realized I just don't ever carry ALL my needles around with me, you know? It's much easier to just have them on the shelf.

Love it!!! Fantastic idea!! Like you - I don't carry all my needles around at once... so this is a great alternative! thanks for the idea that we are all stealing... I mean borrowing... After all - copying is the most sincere form of flattery!!

BTW:
I am a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE office fan!!! And an office sidenote... I have a bobblehead Dwight sitting on my desk at work... the cleaning people beheaded him... so I am going to superglue (hope, hope, hope) him and knit him a scarf to hide the scar!

I love this!   I'm still trying to figure out how to store all of my needles.  BTW I'm also jealous of your collection of different size DPNs, I only have one set so far  Cheesy
