I'm very proud of these curtains i made for my sons' bedroom. it was even worth listening to my husband nagging for weeks about bags of fabric scraps. they are made from old curtains and clothes bought from jumble sales.

Those are fantastic!  And when your son no longer wants them, you can use them to make a throw and some pillows!!!

I bet they probably keep the light out well too - they're terrific! Did you line them with anything? Did you make any sort of tie-backs for them, or do they stay closed all of the time? (They're so pretty, it would seem almost a shame to tie them back, but I'm a fresh air freak - gotta open those windows every once in a while!)

Those are beautiful!!!
That's such a great way to recycle fabric scraps. I'd never thought to make curtains.
And a few weeks is definitely NOT a long time for fabric to hang around. Silly man! Smiley

I saw a bedspread online made like that, except all the fabrics were purples, greys and blacks. Still velvet and satin. I've been coveting it for years. It's the very reason I've been trying to get a sewing machine out of my family. Good job!

wow! i'm so proud, my curtains are on the featured projects bit! one of the best things about making the curtains was that my boys, age 4 and 7 wanted to help. i'll try and encourage that craftiness for as long as i can! and in answer to question, curtains are opened everyday, even tho' i'd be miss haversham if i lived alone.

I luv em 2 death, i think i may have to sneak into your house and steal them. But don't worry, I'll restrain myself. I dont have any fabric scraps tho...i ahvent sewn anything in a LONG time. But, I could prolly but half a meter of a billion diff. kinds of fabrics and create the same thing. kudos to you!

I make patchie clothes and all kinds of other stuff, too. Those curtains are awesome! Plus recycled too! Here's a pic of some of the curtains I've made for our house.
