Of course!! The link list is by no means definitive - I just wanted to give people a starting point.

Okay folks - if you haven't worked it out by now, we have partners, and we're on our way.

'tis only a small swap this time - all the better for us to be able to appreciate the great things we create Smiley (and, possibly, all the better for me, as I've just realised that uni goes back today (!))

I have a good link for India with lots of inspriation. I really like this site and have spent hours there looking and reading. In fact, I think I'll do some more today.

While I'm here, I shall confirm that I did get my partner's info and have started working on her swap stuff.

Update:
My items and their design are settled and all research is complete. I am dyeing fabric, have made needed patterns and began to cut out the pieces.

Didn't want anyone to think I was slacking.

This is both an FYI and a rant.
I just got back from the post office. I had a few things to send off and wanted Delivery Confirmation for one of them. The clerk tells me I have to pay for Priority Mail to get deliver confirmation! That means instead of costing $0.58 to mail it would cost closer to $6.00!

To top it off, the "government" worker, the PUBLIC SERVANT who's salary we taxpayers pay, has lousy customer service skills. She behaved as if I came in and thoughtlessly inconvenienced her day. She is always like that. I may have to make a complaint to the Postmaster.

If this is how it is going to be I'm not going to be able to participate in many swaps here because delivery confirmation is required. I understand and agree with the reasoning behind it--but I can't afford it. And, I am now so pissed at the USPS that I don't want to give them any more of my money than I have to.

Update: progress is still being made on my project. The silk dyed gorgeous. I used a different mordant and I like it much better. Pieces were cut out a few days ago and sewing has begun.

What's up with the rest of you?

I'm actually still tumbling ideas around in my head... but I have them. It's just a matter of determining how I'm going to execute them Smiley

I understand your rant-o-rama about postal services. Oh boy, do I ever. Venting is great, isn't it?
