The Story
When I started sewing I was amazed to discover that most of sewing is not sewing but preparing (ironing, cutting, ironing, pinning, etc.) or just plain fussing. And who knew that I could amass a great big stash of fabric in only 6 months ...

... so one day when my wee gal and I had a moment away from the baby we decided to make a rainbow from fabric in our stash. She'd been drawing rainbows, and ever the DIY ma, I was teaching her R.O.Y.G.B.I.V -- Richard of York Gave Battle In Vain -- we even have a song about it ... I used the vertical strip twirl skirt pattern from www.youcanmakethis. com, though I used fewer panels so I could keep to the ROYGBIV theme. We had to pop over to Joanne's for the "vain" portion. She now violet "vain" ... orange "of," etc.
