Here's what I sent to eropunkish. The little girl modeling the bag is Courtney, one of my best friends. She's 5 and I've been babysitting her 2 times a week (on average) since she was two.

The bag is bigger than her, practically. And here she is showing of the lining.

Haha, yes the bag is huge!  I kept waiting to take better pictures, but all I have are ones I took on myself.

Here's one (just so I post one!):

I am also in pajamas.  That don't match.

Can't wait to see everyone's creations!

europunkish- Great bag (and great jammies!) Wink If I had a bag that large, I'd fill it up with way too much stuff and I'd never be able to carry it Grin

cumber1137- What fabrics did you use on the outside? It looks suede-y and vinyl-y...

And here is my FABULOUS bag from atomeve. I can't knit, so she knitted me a bag that I can use as a "winter" bag, but I'll be using it in the fall and spring, too!

I love the colors she used, and it is nice and roomy, as the inside shot shows. The lining fabric is perfect, and she even put in pockets!

Thanks so much! I love it!

Hooray!  I'm glad you like it.  It was a lot of fun to make and I'm now in the process of making my own.  Cheesy

(and now I'm waiting enviously for mine ... I know it's somewhere between Boston & San Diego and am tempted to leave work and wait at home for the mail man!)

That knit bag is amazing!!  All I can knit are scarves... and not too well, either! Smiley

It's completely doable for a beginning knitter, and this bag is actually a pretty simple one to do:

1. Knit a really wide square scarf (mine was probably 18" wide by 24" long).
2. Roll the ends of your stumpy scarf / future purse over some circular purse handles and sew tightly into place with the same yarn you used to knit.
3. Fold in half (right side to right side, handles together) and stitch half way up from the crease (base of the purse) to the handles so you have a good size opening.

It can get a little tricky depending on whether or not you want to sew a lining in, add a closure, and so on, but nothing that's too difficult to figure out if you've made other bags before.

I bought the fabric from FIELD'S FABRICS, it was in the Clearance section. I also got some just like it with Leaves.. *when I have time I will upload pics*  Yea the fabric seems suedish..It's really soft and I think its imitation. The original price per yard was $15.

I just received from AndreaMarie! Oh my goodness, I LOVE my bag!

It's a messenger bag style, and absolutely awesome.

Behold, the terrible in-mirror photo!

Detail of the awesome sparkly buckle (and check out that rockin stitch pattern for the seam!)

As soon as I hear that AndreaMarie has recieved, I can post hers too.
