vinyl wristlets! tiki, mermaids, hula girls, cherries and more!

i've been sewing like mad the last few weeks to make all these, and i'm sooooo happy with them!

i made 4 of each design, so 24 wristlets total. the straps are made with a heavy duty snap, so they can be used as a wristlet, or they can be snapped around the strap of a bigger bag to keep your essentials close by. they also work great in bathrooms with limited storage, cause you can hang em from your towel bar.  



the scan shows more details of the stitching and applique, but the colour's a bit off.

i love how this green pops! i always tell myself i don't like green, and then i get obsessed with certain shades of it.



this one is actually a bit darker colours, the scan shows them better.

this one is so detailed, with so many pieces to the applique, i'm super proud of how well it turned out.




hula girl! her grass skirt has three layers of vinyl, it's very full!




pretty pretty mermaid with her seaweed hair! her tail is made from vintage vinyl.




i LOVE this one.... i'm planning a whole series of cherry bags after these ones turned out so well!

both sides are same shade of brown, dark like in the front picture.
my mom doesn't like the double entendre of this one, but i think it's highly amusing!  
 
these are all a mixture of vinyls with the images cut out of multiple pieces and appliqued on (very carefully!).

all the patterned vinyl (the woodgrain and the mermaid's tail) is vintage/new stock vinyl, and all of the zippers i used were vintage as well. i love working with vintage zippers, they're just so much more interesting than the standard YKK zippers most fabric stores carry. and the colours are awesome! i'm so impressed with how well they all matched. all the supplies were purchased at the most amazing family owned sewing store in my area. i'm in there constantly, and i'm not sure if they love me or they think i'm crazy, but they let me go through their boxes of zippers on a regular basis and nod understandingly when i complain about vinyl that frays (because i'm a perfectionist!).

I love 'em!  I'm not sure which is my favorite though.  The woodies one is definitely up there, but I love the detailing and colors on some of the others as well.

oh great! i clicked through the first page and when i see  it is vinyl and perfectly made i knew it it was you and then i scroll to see the poster and voila! i love your works..
