I was just about to break down at the idea that I might have to pay someone to do really nice covered buttons for me, but thank heavens, I could follow this tute!!

wonderful tute, excellent idea! i don't know if anyone has mentioned using fray-stop or fray-check on the raw edge of the fabric to prevent fraying but it really works. in a pinch white glue mixed w a bit of water works alright too though i wouldn't put those buttons through the wash.

another idea would be to cover the back of the buttons with a circle of felt either glued or stitched on. a bit more labour intensive but if you're going to the trouble of making covered buttons in the first place why the heck not?!
