Made these for a friend who requested socks... my own pattern, using the yarn-over cable in Barbara Walker's 1st treasury, and Louet Gems Opal yarn. My friend loved them!

Cute socks! I love the cables. Good to know your friend appreciated them. It's always nice to hear about a well-received gift.

oh my goodness, those look JUST like the socks I just knit... very similar cable pattern and even the same color!  Great minds think alike!!

Just curious, what yarn did you use?

I used Louet Gems Opal (I guess now they're calling it Louet Gems Sportweight...); I think the color was called Sage.
