should I charge my customers the tax or just take it out of the profits Im not sure what the regular thing is with this.

The first thing you must realize is that you don't 'charge' tax, you collect it. You are the agent for the state or Commonwealth and authorized to collect sales taxes.

But let's face it. At the small craft shows/fairs held in a school, fire house, or church, nobody really collect taxes although it is required by the laws that pertains to every state that has a sales tax. (Many states have no sales tax at all)

If you decide to expand your business and do the larger shows, say, with entry fees over $100 then you should collect the sales tax.
