is there some secret to criss-cross shoulder straps? i am working on a button down to dress recon, and i really really really wanted to do criss cross straps, but i clearly have no idea what i'm doing. with the criss-cross straps, the top/back of the dress is all gappy and weird looking. (if i pin the straps straight, it looks fine.) i've tried shortening, moving them further in to the center, further out. nothing seems to work. i'm giving up for this recon, but i'd sure love to know what i'm doing wrong. Sad

It sounds to me like they're too short.

Yup- a criss cross strap needs to be 2/3 longer than a straight over the top one.

I avoid these on my 3 year old because she likes changing her clothes 4,125,643,987 times a day and has got them twisted around her neck several times (panic!). Not to mention how frustrated she gets when she can't get something on all by herself.
