I got a little bit spun yesterday and a bit more today.  So here they are.

Yesterday I spun this up and it's still on the bobbin waiting to be plyed with some black I spun today.

The black from today (kinda bad pic).

And this is my first try at a single.  From today...

So there is the end of my first week spinning. Grin Grin Grin YA!

I won't be posting for a week or so, but I will still be spinning!  As soon as we have internet in the new house, I will be back with a flood of photos!

Happy Moving Bixby!  I can't imagine having to take time out from spinning to unpack boxes...how un-fun!  Moving is really exciting tho.  Have you claimed yourself a spinning room?   Grin

Travis, you have had a great week of spinning!  You are off to an amazing start, I wish my first yarns looked so nice!  WTG!

I got my ball-winder in the mail finally!  Gosh, those things are just amazing and quite hypnotic.  I finished plying some superwash that i had dyed yesterday, and it just called to me to knit it.  So I'm working on a hat with it now.

Don't know if I can spin on my wheel today (or a few days), because I think I broke my toe.   Undecided Ouch.  This is the third time I've done this, and this time it happened when I kicked a desk trying not to step on my dog. *sigh*

Puh, after 2 days of spinning, today I plyed the skein of handdyed tussah-silk. Because it's really hot here, everything gets sticky. This is the finished skein. It's 2 oz an 255 yards.

I have another ball of 4 oz tussah-silk waiting for me, that I dyed with kool aid.

But this will have to wait, until the temperatur drops a bit.

I thought you couldn't dye non animal fibers with kool aid? Will it stay ? If so I've got some silk that  needs color!
