I made these from the spa sock pattern from the sports issue of Knit 1. Oddly enough, while on a trip, i bought ONE skein of blue sky alpaca cotton without knowing what I'd do with it. I got home, noticed the socks in the magazine, and set off to make them!

they were fairly easy, my first pair of socks. i used to be against sock knitting, because i didn't like the idea of spending so much time on something that goes on your foot at the end. They aren't so good with the shoes i'm wearing because they're more of a slipper sock, but i like purple and red together.

*P.S.* On a completely unrelated note, i just started a knitting blog, and I'd appreciate it if you stopped by and gave me some tips. I'm fairly new to all of this.

They're adorable! I love the big black buttons.

If all our life is but a dream, fantastic posing greed
Then we should feed our jewelry to the sea
For diamonds do appear to be
Just like broken glass to me.

I love the buttons! I think the style (but a little thinner) would look fantastic with shoes...particularly white socks, black buttons, and black high heels. They'd be so cute and Victorian-esque!

(...okay, if anybody wants to make these for me...  Tongue)

haha, when I saw the small image of those on the knitting board front page, I thought someone had made knitted spats.

As amusing as knitted spats are, knitted socks are so much more practical.
I too like the big buttons. Cheesy
