hot off the hook he ran towards my new ipod nano...

He managed to stuff himself into the box after he ate my ipod and hoped i wouldn't notice.

Then I opened the box and shrieked. Upon hearing it, he ran away with the earphones.

It pleaded "please don't hurt me".

It took me the whole day making the feisty little monster. What do you guys think of him? Thanks for looking. Smiley

So I finally came up with some kind of tutorial. He's really quite easy to make. You can actually make a monster cozy for any mp3 players following these instructions. Any other questions, please send me a pm. I will help you as much as I can. Smiley

First, get a plastic square(i got mine from old files) Cut it so that its 1cm by 1cm bigger than the screen. Then punch holes(i used the belt hole-puncher, the regular hole-puncher makes holes too big) outside the screen area. About 0.5cm apart.

Chain till you can wrap it around your mp3 player. Slip stitch into the first chain.
Row 1: sc in each st.

The plastic sheet part
Row 2: Now add the plastic sheet in the center. insert hook in the next stitch and the hole and sc as usual.
Row 3: sc in the first vertical hole till the opposite hole, turn and sc. Continue around till the vertical holes are done.
Row 4: sc in the last of the horizontal holes. sc around.

To make it without the plastic sheet, sc till the outline of the screen, turn and sc around till hole for screen is done.

the wheel part:
Row 5: sc around till the outline of the hole, turn and sc around.Towards the end, chain 4 or 5 and sc in the next stitch to join the circle for the wheel.
Row 6: sc around till the end of your mp3 player, then sew the bottom. Remember to leave a gap for your earphone outlet if necessary.

Cardboard used for better visibility. To crochet with the plastic.

It looks something like that.

Single crochet all around. Crochet till the wheel part, turn and continue single crochet.

Eyes(make 2)
Row 1: ch 2, 6 sc in first ch.
Row 2: 2sc in first sc, sc in the next sc (repeat around)
Row 3: (necessary only if you want bigger eyes) 2sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc (repeat around)
Row 4: (for even bigger eyes) 2sc in first sc, sc in next 3sc (repeat around)
Row 5: should be un-necessary.
Fasten off to end and sew on to monster.

I REALIZED I FORGOT TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE ARMS. SORRY!! Sad
Arms(make 2)
Simply chain till you reach an arm length you like(I chained it together with the body),
4sc in 2ch from hook,
picot in 1st sc
sl st in next ch, picot in ch
sl st in next ch, picot in ch
TADADAH.. Simple monster arms.. Haha..

Sorry this tutorial is kinda sloppy. I really didn't know how to explain how its made. Hope its not too confusing. Have fun. Smiley

I love him! Aaah! I am obsessed with finding a cute monster case for my iPod! I saw a furry one for sale a long time ago, but the store ran out of them before I could order one. Dagnabbit.
