I made this cute top out of an old t-shirt I got for free from the admissions office at a college I decided not to go to. There was a big "Hillsdale College" printed on the front, which I had to work around. Pics!



I shirred the top, the under-bust, and the sleeves. The only seam that remains from the original garment is the hem. So yay. Here's the back--



Sorry about the color quality. I didn't take a before picture, but I found this horrible one from a pj party last winter. It shows the actual color--

That looks absolutely amazing!  Even with as long as I've been sewing, I've been intimidated by shirring for some reason... but seeing something as lovely as that makes me want to try it -- I'm sure my girls would *love* shirred clothing!

That's beautiful! I'm always looking for cute recons that will hide my wide bra straps. I'd never thought of saving the sleeves like that. It's such a great idea!
