My mini-scarf with button. I shall start a trend.

Actually, I'm not ever sure what is trendy and what isn't. 

Anyway, on to the project.  I made a shawl and had a small amount of Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick left over.  Maybe 1/8th of a skein.  I was playing with it and decided to see how far it would go as a scarf.  I knew it wouldn't be far.  This is what I came up with:

The pic is weirdly washed out.  The color is "Wood" and is actually a very warm chocolate brown with textural green, red and cream fibers spun in, and that button actually nearly matches the red fibers, so it doesn't look nearly so out of place in person.

I love it.  It's my first scarf.  And, I think, my sixth finished project.  It's warm, but doesn't get in the way, stays on and is just cute as hell.  It was very easy.  I used size 13 needles.  Cast on 9 stitches, knit in garter for 5 rows, then knit in seed stitch until your work measures 23" from the beginning and knit another 5 rows of garter.  (Mine ends up being right at 24" length and about 3 3/4" wide.)  I sewed the button on 8" from one end.  Adjust this for your neck, of course.  No use strangling yourself with your new scarf.  Unless you're into that...  No buttonhole is needed.  The stitches are open enough for my button to fit through.  It's a 13/16 button, but I think anything up to an inch would fit, though snugly.  I love it.  I'm giving this one to a friend for Christmas, but may make one for myself.  It only took about 2 hours.

hehe it's just so cute! i made one about that long. but mine was a mistake lol. i thought it was long enough so i binded off. then realized it was like super short. oh well. it was my first scarf and i heart it. yours is adorable. i love the button

I thought the scarflets were a bracelet?  Maybe I didn't look far enough back.  Thanks for the kind comments.  These are extra-fun to make, whatever they're called.  I say, we should all make cute little buttoned scarves!
