hurray for clay!

=D Yes ladies (and gentlemen), my entry is the queen of pies.  Unfortunately, my pies are inedible and hard because they're made of polymer clay!

This is my very first ever entry!  I love making pies, especially pumpkin pies! ... and I love working with clay... so it was only natural that I make clay pies! lol

And here's how I did it:
Materials -
Polymer clay
a mini pie tin
magnets
discarded bottle caps

First, I took an old pie tin and cut out the bottom.  These are smaller than your normal 9" tin (this one is about 6" or so).  I wanted a base that I could stick into the oven to bake the clay onto so using my headbands was out of the question.

Oh yeah baby... Wink that's some hott tin-ara action for ya. lol

Then I rolled out some clay and cut it into a tiara shape.

And added the lattice top and crust to my pie crown!

Here it is after I had added some "crust" color to the beige clay and baked it for a bit.  I had to add some E6000 to the back to hold it onto the *ahem* pie-ara because clay doesn't stick so well to the foil tin.

After everything had cooled, I added the embellishments - pie "jewels" lol They're actually pie magnets that I made.  The magnets are so strong that they actually hold through the thickness of the pie-ara, which I am still shocked at.  I don't want to detail how I made the little pies... I'm just too lazy for that.

Here is the view from the left side of the tiara.  It has pecan pie and blueberry pie.  You can see the little round black magnets on the back of the pie-ara.

Here is a frontal view that shows pumpkin pie, a cherry cheesecake... "pie" (lol) and key lime pie.

And this is the right side of the pie where I stuck cherry pie and an open-top strawberry pie.

Lastly, ACTION SHOT! Tongue No clips or strings were harmed in the placing of this pie-ara. hehe

Hope you guys like it!  I see the other entries and the competition is fierce!  But, regardless, I had fun making it and I wanted to thank you all for sitting through this entry. lol

What a great job you did with your pie-ara.It Very innovative and creative. There is so much you can do with polymer clay. Good Luck! Smiley
