these bowling balls are my take on the ones other people have done, half marbles glued on with clear silicone sealant, one ball was originally black and I didn't paint it and the other two were colored bowling balls, one blue and the other kind of red and gray swirled together, I put a green ruler by the blue one, the original black ball is with the red one, I used mostly clear stones on the red ball

I love it... what kind of glue did you use? For glass? Like silicone?

I used clear all-purpose silicone sealant from Wal-Mart, it's back in the caulking section by the house paints.

Those are truly awesome.  Can you imagine doing a bowling ball with the picture marbles?  I have (insert absurdly large number here) of them, and I'm tired of making thumbtacks with them.  Cool idea.

that would be so cool, if you do make one please post it, I'd love to see it. I don't think I'd put it outside though because someone might decide they needed it more than you.

You might be right.  I may have to put my attack kitty on guard duty  Wink  Oddly (or serendipitously - is that a real word?) enough, my old bowling ball which I had given away years ago was just returned to me a couple of weeks ago.  I had forgotten who I had even given it to, when my mother in law showed up with it.  So, yeah, I think fate is stepping in here, telling me I must make one.  Now if I could only think of something cool to do with my old bowling ball bag

If you think of anything to do with the bag, let me in on it. I have about 4 or maybe 5 of the bags, some of the balls came in a bag and I can't just toss them. Any ideas?

That looks pretty awesome - how are you displaying it in the garden?

haven't put them out in the garden yet, just call me chicken. I have one bowling ball sitting in a brass bowl that's turned upside down, you know the kind that has a little base on it that looks like another little bowl, but it's in the house right now.

These look terrific. I love the idea of the picture marbles, mind if I borrow the idea? To add to my list of 200 projects to do Tongue :PMy daughter and I carry bowling bags as purses and carry on luggage when flying. I've bever done anything to them-they're pretty cool as it is, but I bet you could decoupage a cool retro bowling figure on one.
