OK, so you all saw the tube top I  made for irid3sc3nt - here's what she sent me in return (and trust me, I got the better deal in this one!)

She made me a tinafish hobo bag - check this out!!
outside:

inside (yes, that's my mickey cell phone):

action shot:

and then, some extras - 2 large pieces of fabric, the Mickey she used for the purse AND my favorite skull and roses fabric, which i really MUST make myself a corset top out of.. and this cool notepad - and it's perfect for me.  The cover says "she liked imagionary men best of all", and on the pages inside, it says things like
  • "alone at last!"
  • "and then she realized, they were all alike!"
  • "pain was too good for him"
  • "... and then i ripped his lungs out"
  • "had she punished him enough?  how could she be sure?"
  • "he couldn't become a distant memory soon enough to suit her"
  • "bitter?  moi?"
  • and my personal favorite, ""what was I thinking?"

(think she has me pegged?)

Carissa, thank you SO much, I love everything (and I'm still laughing over the notepad)

Isn't it just?  I'm loving it, with the mickey, the orange with polka dots, and the lime green lining with dots.....

That is the most awesome bag ever! WOW!

The other Mickey fabrics were quite plain or else they had a bunch of other characters on them, so I went with this one and matched the colors with some cottons.  I loosely used the tinafish hobo bag tut, but most of it was deep thinking and pinning before actually doing the sewing.  One side of the strap I had actually handsewed before I woke up one morning and realized how I could machine sew it.  It also helped that I have my own bag that was made for me, so I looked at that a lot as well.
It should hold up well, as I doubled over my straight stitches and added a zigzag over the top of that as well as made squares of stitches for holding the straps to the bag.  It was a challenge, but it's always great when you finish something new and it looks nice.  (The only thing that I could not do was the Danica scarf from Knitty-- entrelac is terrible on me)

Anywho, glad you liked it, Dulcinea!  Let's swap again sometime!

I'm glad you liked everything! I hope I get mine soon! I loooove getting stuff in the mail!
I WAS going to make you a few knitted donuts and a piece of pie, but I didn't want to take forever to get the package to you.
I swear, I must have knitted that hat (in some version or another) at least 8 times, but it never gets old. And it's nice to have your work appreciated!
If you ever want to do another swap, let me know!

Katiebread and I did another swap...She totally spoiled me this time!

She crocheted me a beautiful wrap, even included pendants to close it, crocheted a dishcloth that perfectly matches my kitchen, sent me lots of tea and included a bag pattern and partially put together fabric for me to finish up for her.

The pictures don't do the wrap justice  -  it is gorgeous! (sorry the picture is sideways - I couldn't figure out how to turn it!)

Thank you Katiebread!!! Smiley  As usual, you were a fantastic swap partner!

I received my swap package from frix220 yesterday! I was sleeping when it arrived, and took it to work (the graveyard shift) with me. Which explains this:

I had all the materials with me to cast on for Knitty's Everlasting Bagstopper, but I liked the Sugar n'Cream in Shades of Green that she sent me better than the plain mercerized cotton I had planned to use. So...here's what's left of that yarn, plus the WIP that it has become. I picked up another ball this morning to finish it.

A skein of Lion Brand Wool in Scarlet. So pretty! And an adorable note card (my hubby's in the Navy).

Some divine shower gel and bath beads. She must be reading my mind, because I really need to de-stress. And great-smelling soap, which my husband tried to eat]!

Some cute little organizing accessories. These will be put to use in short order, believe me.

An adorable little project bag, which will soon house a pair of socks I want to knit.

And the piece de resistance, the needle roll. I love this! All of my circs and straights are in here.

My dog is in some of these pictures; he wants all of my attention. Don't mind him.

Oh! She also made me some cute address labels with Navy emblems, patriotic stars and stripes, cats, and cute skulls and crossbones. They're at my desk.
Overall, a successful swap, I do think.
