I am just so excited because I finally finished my first knitted object that I didn't really use a pattern to make. I couldn't find a baby blanket that was perfect, so I cobbled ideas from lots of patterns to make one that I loved. I'm just so happy with the results- sorry if I'm a little picture happy.

I used just *barely* over 5 balls each of Cotton-Ease in Lake, Berry, Lime, Maize, & Violet. The blanket is just over 3 ft. square.

Thanks! Luckily, the blocks aren't sewn together, they are mitered squares. But weaving in all the ends was...a trial, to say the least. I was up until 1 a.m. last night with those damn things.

This is so simple and beautiful.  Do you have any clear links or pattern for the mitered squares.  I'm better at crochet than knitting.  With knitting I feel like I can drive forward in first gear  Wink. No changing gears, parallel parking, certainly no getting on the freeway.  I would love to knit something with the simple elegance of the mitered squares.  Thanks for sharing it and congrats on making it w/o a pattern.
