Hagrid's Pets from Harry Potter (img heavy)

My friend is putting on a Harry Potter Fan Art show in a few weeks where there will fan art of all sorts, a screening of Brad Neely's "WIZARD PEOPLE, DEAR READER" and tasty wizard snacks.


When I first found out about it, I said to myself (in an Eeyore-esk voice) "Hmph. I love Harry Potter and would love to participate, but I'm not artistic. Ho-hum". Then my friend asked me if I wanted to contribute anything, and a lightbulb went off in my head. "Hello, amigurumi Harry Potter characters?!".

I didn't want to do the normal main characters, so I decided (with the help of my roomate) to make some of Hagrid's pets.

The first one I have done is Fluffy, the 3-headed dog:






I personally think his body is a little too large. But then again, I'm guessing a 3-headed dog would need to have some extra organs inside of the chest cavity (like extra sets of lungs and whatnot), so I suppose it works. (Even if it didn't work, I'm NOT about to tear this damn thing apart).  

I'm working on Buckbeak / Witherwings right now, and the last one I want to get done is Norbert. You know they'll get posted here when I'm done with them.

What a great idea to contribute amigurumi to the art show.  It's easy to slip into the TOTALLY WRONG conclusion that just because you can't paint or draw or do art in some "traditional" way, that you aren't artistic.  I remember telling my husband years ago that I wasn't creative, for that very reason.  Now, with fiber arts and cooking, I know how silly that was.  So....way to go in creating a fun expression of Harry Potter art.  Can't wait to see Buckbeak and Norbert
