I think the proportions look perfect. The body size is just right. Making the body smaller would have looked funny and he might not have been able to stand up. Choosing the pets instead of the human characters is more original. Personally, I would prefer to do the pets myself.
Kudos.

Thank you so much you guys! This was the first project that I've posted on here that's been completely original, and I'm so honored that you guys think so highly of it! I'd better get crackin' on the other animals!

That is totally amazing! I got to it by clicking on just the picture in the "hot new projects" section, so I didn't see the title. My first thought was "Oh my goodness, it's a crocheted Cerberus!!" I am in love with Greek mythology!

I won't insist that you write a pattern to post because that is pushy and often annoying, but I will request politely that if you do decide to put up a pattern for him that you let me know. (or at least I will check back on this page often just in case) And I thank you in advance.

I also thank you for brightening my day with a lovely Fluffy/Hound of Hell.

Hey Fiber People: I am very interested in personal swaps for painted/dyed roving or top. I can swap supplies or crafted items. Let's talk!
