About a month ago I had my appendix taken out after having Appendic problems for four years which were misdiagnosed time and time again...This is my tiara tribute to my surgery.

I started out with a cheap headband and secured some of those terrible hair combs to hold it on.

I cut out my shape out of a shoe box and paper mache'd the heck out of it.

Spray painted it and added my thermomiter, scary syringe, Vicodin, band-aids, stethoscope, stitches and appendix.

Then I glued in my IV bag which is actually the "Bubble wrap" Zappo's used to pack my new shoes. Recycle power!

The crown jewel

Action shot! There is nothing better in the world than being in your own bed after being in the hospital.

Cheers to everyone's good health...
Laura

EDIT: THEY ARN'T REAL VICODIN PEOPLE!!!! They are four bucks worth of fimo.......not 200 worth of REAL Vicodin...But I guess thanks for thinking they look good enough to be real....

I'm so glad your appendix troubles are finally over! And what a creative crown. I'm impressed! Making the IV bag out of bubble wrap was ingenious!

This is AWESOME!  A fantastic idea.  You're so increadibly creative.

One question, though...  How legal is it to use Vicoden in a craft project? Tongue

I didn't think the Vicoden were real. They look like polymer to me. I hope they are, anyway.

Love the tiara, it's nothing short of genius. Fabulous idea and great execution. Very well done, it looks like it should go in an art exhibit.

Hah! My goodness.....if those Vicodin were real I think that the second someone came to my house they would all be plucked off. They are made of Fimo and they are a pain in the behind to make! I have about a billion left over.....maybe I'll sell them downtown for cheap.

That is so cool and funny. Not funny that you had so much appendix trouble, but definitely a great creative outlet! I love it!

I too had a misdiagnosed appendix problem and went through my own drama/trauma with it, and I love your crown! The Vicodin are a nice touch as well (:

I made a bracelet for my metal smithing class that was a homage to my appendix. I wish I had pictures to show you!

Glad your doing well and that the worst is over! ^.^

This is hilarious-well, to me, not to you. Really creative. I used to be a nurse and I think that would be much better to wear than the caps we used to have to wear...(that really dates me Roll Eyes Roll Eyes )

absolutely the best crown I've seen so far, I think a lot of thought went into this one. If you were really a queen, you could say "Off with your head" to the silly people who misdiagnosed your illness. Hope you feel better now.

This is awesome Smiley I like how you made lemonade out of lemons Smiley

I think sometimes the way we get through things (like health issues) is through humor and... crafts!

The little appendix hanging in the middle is just great and I love the addition of the IV Bag!

This is so awesome!  So many great little touches and the charm hanging in the middle!  I almost died laughing when I saw that.  The Vicodin are hilarious.

I had similar problems with doctors diagnosing my gallbladder problem.  They're finally taking it out next week.  I should make one with a gallbladder and wear it to the hospital, haha. Wink

You can just buy them a the drugstore behind the counter.....but Mine is   A baby's syringe used to measure meds you're giving them so it has no needle since you put it in their mouth.....I glued in a needle.
