so, this really isn't good timing or anything, but i just learned to knit about two weeks ago and this is my first FO (look at me, using the knitting terms already).  i really like it, unfortunately it's gonna sit around for a while until winter can show up...

here is the pattern if anyones interested.  it's super easy for a beginner (like me).

Love this, like the colours much better than the pic on the site. I like that your first FO is a hat rather than the typical garter stitch scarf. Well done. Knitting rocks, yay!!

What a great first project!  You should be proud of yourself.  My first project was a 6" bookmarker done in garter stitch...and it was really wonky!  I'm always impressed when a new knitter can knit a hat right away...it took me forever to progress to that point!  Good job!!

thanks! but this hat can be really deceiving, it's just a knitted rectangle folded in half and seamed up the sides. but, i am insanely proud of it.  even though it's summer here (texas), i wore the rest of the day after i finished it.

my first knitting project was a 3 inch wide garter stitch scarf.  I stil have it and its still my favorite knitted thing.  I'm always impressed when a new knitter can make a 3D object like a hat.  Wink
