I bought 2 yards of this beautiful silk for the bargain of $4.50. The pattern I made all by myself, inspired in a top I have.

Here is the result:

I really love it. But I had a little problem with them hem and it turned out shorter than I wanted, but I'm wearing shorts below it.

THE TUTORIAL

And some observations I'd like to add:
- The values are in centimeters.
- To measure the elastic, I took a piece of it and held around me, just below my bust. Then I started to stretch it until I could still feel it confortable.
- The dots indicating the position of the elastic on my drawing will obviously vary according to your bust size.

And I'd also like to add that I'm not a native english speaker, so excuse my flaws. If you have any doubts I'll try my best to answer Wink

the lenght is actually fine, I just can't do some movements without my bum appearing *lol* that's why it should be a little bit longer and why I'm wearing shorts

Oh cute! I really like it. And if you don't feel comfortable wearing it alone, it'd look cute over jeans!

It's been way too hot here to wear tights or leggings or jeans... but I'll try them when I use the dress to go out by night (nights here are freezing!) Smiley

Oh and I will consider the tutorial thing.. as it's a really easy dress.

it would be awesome if you could post a tut! my local fabric store have suddenly got a load of crazy-patterned fabric that would be perfect for this! I love this dress! And it's not too short  Grin
