I just got back from Illinois. (No. Really. I'm not just singing a CCR song, LOL!!)  Grin
So I went through and tried to find the questions some of you had.

do you carry your colors or cut at each change?

What do think is faster-your way of crocheting or Tapestry crochet?

I too would like to know if you carry the colors across or end at each color change?

Well, the questions are mostly all the same. Color changing.

I don't like to carry a yarn behind the afghan for more than 5 stitches. You run the risk of the afghan becoming too tight or "puckery" if you're not careful.

So, as an example, the hair on Frankie could be done by simply switching the same two strands of yarn because neither would be covering more than five stitches. But if it's more space than that, (like all through his forehead), you need to begin a new hank of yarn to use for the white, then another dark green where the white ends, etc. (Go back and check out the photo of the hair when I was just starting, and the photo of the back of the afghan. Wherever I carried over the yarn it kind of looks like a "zigzag".)

I tried one time to do the tapestry crochet. It was a repeating cat pattern that wound around and around until you had a sort of pouch/purse. Well, I only got through the completed cat once and I quit. It was too hard for me. (And it was the simplest graph too - lol!!!) So I'm definately going to say, for me anyway, that the tunisian stitch is easier.

Hope that helps explain things.

Oh, and rock_goddess, I sent you a message.

Thanks to everyone's nice comment too. You-all are so great!  Cheesy
