Mosaiced Watering Can (Images Galore)

This is a project I did for a swap on a mosaic website, and thought I would share it here on Craftster.

We all got the same watering can from another member, and had to mosaic it then mail it out July 1. The can is 15" wide from the tip of the spout to the very end of the handle. The can itself is 6" high + add in the spout & it's 9" high. The inside bottom is raised so it's only 4" deep .

I covered the can with black spray paint, then did a gradient pattern from balck to white in tile. That part was grouted in yellow. The handle has mirrored pieces, and was then grouted in black.

Inside I painted "How does your garden grow?", and placed some glass pieces for a flower and leaves. Then I sealed the inside with resin to cover.

I hope the swap partner is pleased with her watering can. I really did enjoy this swap!

The can was not intended to be a watering can from the begining because it leaked from the inside. We think it was intended to be only for decorative use. I used the resin inside to seal it so it could be used as a planter or vase possibly.

The swap partner I have has a wonderful fountain area in her backyard. I'm hoping she finds a place for it there.

Yes, it did take some plotting, and planning to get the layout correct. But I have to say not as hard as I had thought.
