Wow- I mailed today and recieved. Instant gratification  Grin fluffysam sent some amazing things.

Unfortunately, I was too excited to open everything to get pics of that, but I can say everything was wrapped in cute tissue paper which made it all the more fun to wait for what's inside.

Here's the whole shebang:

Firstly, bracelets that glow in the dark (which I still need to try out). Every item came with playing card tags.

Then some awesome buttons to go on my purse and magnets to slap on the fridge.

Envying her sewing skills because of this, but I love the red courdory wristlet she made me. And it's got a cute card person on it Smiley

And the inside liningis my style- I love it!

And finally, my favorite thing ever....

What is this?... A tulip from the enchanted garden?

NO! It's an umbrella bird!

And we've almost been through a lifetime together. We've contemplated all of life's big questions together:

We've been silly:

And fallen in love (kind of...):

Even the boyfriend had tons of fun with him:

Thanks for organizing this chimerix! and to fluffysam for making amazing things. you are a great first swapper.

First of all, let me tell you I just spent 5 minutes searching for the "reply" button, not realizing I wasn't logged it, LMAO.  I need some sleep!

Beyond that, fluffysam, that is by far the most amazing umbrella bird I've ever seen (not that i've ever seen any, but if I had, this would be the best, I'm sure!)!   Any hints to recreating this?  I'd greatly appreciate it!

I can't wait to see what my package has in it!  Coming all the way from the UK too!

I just drafted a pattern that wasn't too complex... 5? or 6? pieces each shaped like the sections of an umbrella, and I cut one side out of the regular fabric and one side out of the lining. I sewed each side together, then used some heavy craft-weight interfacing in the middle. I put them right to right and sewed it all, then did some tiny hand stitches in random places to make sure it stayed together. I made a simple head/back and stuffed that, added eyes, and sewed it on... then i made a tube of fabric and slipped it over a dowel rod for the handle. Woo! It was fun! It wasn't really HARD, just time consuming. But so worth it... he's adorable (i'm modest. Tongue)

And I received my amazing package of goodies from stitch and stones today... I will post pictures as soon as my camera decides to cooperate!

You should be so proud, fluffysam. He's so amazing I think I might put him up on my myspace for everyone to see.

Oh, btw, we named him Lenny. We thought it was appropriate.

Glad you loved the package  Grin
