Sometimes, I colour outside the lines on purpose.

Well, over the weekend I went on a crafting rampage and in the process started two scrapbooks. One of which represents my last 5 summers of camp and the other of the lovely adventures with my fellow band geeks. Neither of them are complete but I haven't all my pictures printed off yet.

First off, my Golden Lake United Church Camp Scrapbook:

The title page:

Summer 2003:

Summer 2004:

Summer 2005:

Counsellor-in-Training 2006:

Youth Camp 2006:

Leadership Development Camp 2007:

My lovely title design for LDC (Leadership Development Camp):

And now for my Band Scrapbook:

The Title page. It doesn't look like much but B-A-N-D was cut out of sheet music  Smiley :

The Wesport Christmas Parade:

Feeder School Concerts:

More Feeder School Concerts:

Valentines Day:

You'll notice I'm a BIG fan of two page layouts and plain designs.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated Smiley

I like that you use a lot of pictures.  I do the same.  My only suggestion is to make blocks to make captions or use tags to make them.  You may remember everything now, but after a while (I'm sure some of that summer stuff is hard to remember).  Or just to add a little extra.  Love the colors and the papers and layout overall though!  Nice job Smiley

I love your color combos! They are awesome! I would add a little journalling or something though to help you remember all the important stuff. And I would change up the layout of the photos a little more. Just to have some variety.

Those are SUCH cute pages and  love the colors and patterns you chose! You did a really good job with them!

I'm a cram-everything-on-a-page type of girl, so your approach seems pretty minimalistic to me, but I love it! You never would've gotten me to believe that some people voluntarily leave page space blank... ;] (Also, no lie, I clicked this really because band geeks are finely attuned to those of their own kind, and the phrase jumped out at me from the forum page, haha.)

Love the color combos!!!

But as a former band geek (or is it once a band geek, always a band geek), I would second the adding some journaling, even if it was at a page at the end.  Fifteen plus years after my band days, I couldn't say I would remember what is in pictures.

I like you balance across the spreads. I appreciate your lack of nick knacks and love of clean lines. If you looking for constructive crit I would say that simple is good, but you might be able to mix it up by using different textures. Mulberry paper to mat images or ribbons on striped paper for dimension would complement your designs.
