A while ago, I have been taking a painting class (a birthday gift of my very crafty sister) and used the class to get some help with painting flowers, especially the blossom part. Here is my result:

It is a bit brighter in real life, but you get the idea. It is painted with acrylic paint and pastel chalk.

Hope you enjoy it! I am very proud of it, I must say!

i love that.

i like pictures of flowers close up, and though i've seen lots of paintings of flowers i haven't liked, yours is definitely one that i like. it isn't stuffy, if that makes sense.

It does make perfect sense to me. My sister paints a lot of flowers, which in my opinion are mostly too big and too bold, but she talked me into painting this, actually. i always refused to, cause flowers are a little "too cute" for my taste, I wouldnt hang them on my wall. This one I really like, it hangs in my living room right now, but I might give it to my sister at some point though. I need to make some room for some others *lol*.

Thanks for the compliments though, I really appreciate that!

You just need the right kind of flower, like the Venus FlyTrap or Skunk Cabbage- then they are not 'too cute' Grin
This is a beautiful painting- I also like how you used the pastel, that seemed to make certain areas pop!
By the way, what a great birthday gift!  My sister's birthday is comming up...humm... Wink
