There was some debate on the Links Board as to how to do this because the instrutions were in spanish so I decided to make an english tutorial.

Supplies:
  • Pop can
  • Scissors
  • Tape Measurer
  • Marker (preferably dry erase)

Step One:
Cut the top off of your can (about an inch from the lip)

Step Two:
Mark a straight line around your can an inch from the bottom.
At the top make a dot every cm.

Step Three:
Cut at each dot down your can stopping at the line

Step Four
Flatten all of your strips

Step Five
Fold a strip diagonally to the left over the strip next to it on the.

Step Six
Fold the first strip back to the right underneath the other strip.

Step Seven:
Continue steps FIVE and SIX until your can is complete and looks like this...

Ha, that's wild. Luckily I'm an ex-smoker, so you know what that means.....But it is still neat anyhow.

Thanks!  I'm not a smoker and my Husband recently quit (three weeks going on four!!!), so we tossed out all our ash trays.  This will come in handy whenever someone comes over that does smoke, and all will have to do is make one of these, and throw them away when they leave!  Or give as a gift, who knows!

What a nifty idea!! Cheesy Of course, the bf & I are quitting real soon, but since this is so neat, I'll perhaps make one (or 2 or a billion Wink ) and use them as tiny bowls for candy or just decorations!!!

Good news for all you non-smokers out there, turned over these are the perfect size for those little night light candles.

So the thread could be renamed "Reversible Popcan Ashtray/Votive"  Grin

Also an absolutely awesome idea!!!!!!!!! Cheesy I love decorative votive holders, but I hate getting wax on 'em & ruining them!!!!

This is so neat!!! I'll have to get a can of Coke just to make this. (I don't drink soda unless I'm eating pizza, and I don't smoke.) Maybe I can make a bunch and use them to organize my little crafty stuffs. Totally awesome!

This is a neat little craft.  I don't smoke anymore either, but you could use them to burn incense...or how much harder to punch small holes in them and make a mobile?  My teenage boys might enjoy making them because they have a "manly craft" feel to them.

That looks really cool, and also looks like I might need gloves.  I'm not a smoker but this would be a nice gift, or decoration.
