SWAP ADDICT!

as we all should be aware now our Earth is under crisis, the climate shows most of the damage we have done. Many of us have seen Al Gore's documentary and decided to help ur pleading planet. Inspired by the constant information available to us Ive decided to have a change of lifestyle that is more "eco-friendly".This is a hard process but I though if we made a swap to help share tips and stuff that  help us be more "eco-friendly" and helps educate others. There is no better teacher than the example so lets start today.
There are many things you can swap like bags for shopping. Americans use about 450 plastic bags per person, per year. Less than 3% are recycled. Guess where the rest of them are? Shopping bags can be cute , made in any color or pattern. Heres the link for ideas:www.bhappybags.com
Make paper out of used newspapers, old magazines, junk mail any papaer really. Its easy and it looks good.Heres a tutorial link http://www.pioneerthinking.com/makingpaper.html
T-Shirts and other clothing made out of recycled stuff or organic cotton.Shirts with eco-friendly messages.Link to ideas of clothing: http://www.growild.net/index.phpwww.startglobalcooling.net

http://www.happyhippie.com/directory/clothing.htm

Also crafts made from recicled materials, bottle caps, aluminum, bottles, basically anything that would have otherwise be thrown away.

For those who make washable reusable pads heres a link to more ideas:

Heres the link to the eco-craftalong where a lot of ideas are presented:

Be creative! Go crazy! Heres and awesome recycled outfit that the amazing lilpunkrock90 made:http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=176647.0
Also this swap will be modeled after the Earth day -Enviromental swaps (there were two) here are the links:

So anyone interested in a swap like this?

i wasn't able to jump on the earth day swap, so i would love to play.

one thing i'd like to do is to make note pads from repurposed paper. at work, there is so much paper wated. i know that i can cut the paper to repurpose it for small scratch paper notepads.

i can knit a market bag.

you can also re-purpose items at a thrift store/garage sale/flea market, instead of buying and consuming new/more stuff.

i'd also love to receive a cloth "plastic" bag.

if we want it to be a swap where we teach each other how to help save our planet, we can include tips/ideas on being "greener".
i know there is a eco friendly craftalong where people are sharing ideas.

I'd be interested. I've done the past two earthday swaps and loved them.

Always one for recycling.
My coworkers think I'm weird wanting them to save me stuff for crafty projects.

I was thinking of starting sign-ups as soon as possible (maybe now) and send outf for the begining of september or mid sept. so everyone will have more than enough time. Everyone agrees?

I would be very interested! Sounds like a fantastic idea!

Although it may be worth combining it with the recycled materials swap...
