http://www.knitscene.com/2007/fall07projects.asp
...is up.
What do we think?  I kind of like the prairie kimono, but in different colors, cactus blossom, highlands zip, breton girl, and road to golden.
'Cause, you know, I need to line up more sweaters for this fall when I'm planning on putting up a mitten tree at work in November and December. Wink

I don't subscribe to this mag, but I'm gonna have to pick it up for Road to Golden.  It looks like a pattern I'd be inclined to make multiple times in different colors.

Knitscene is so hit or miss for me.  This looks like a great issue Smiley

Yeah, I haven't been too interested in previous issues, but this has several that look interesting. May track down a copy and see what the patterns look like up close.

the moebius looks pretty cool - but I've already made neckscarves so it's probably just a matter of figuring out how many stitches to cast on - although I do have some thin green alpaca and tons of beads.... hmmm...

I'm not that impressed although that coat is lovely. And what is the deal with knitted skirts? I see them in every knit magazine, I just can't figure out how the sitches don't stretch out of shape around the bum area? But then again maybe I have a bigger butt then a knitted skirt can handle.

I've been wondering about that as well.  Or skirts that stretch from knee to floor length.

Yep, I usually can't figure out why anyone would knit most thing in Knitscene.  I figure I must not be young enough or hip enough or something!  So I don't look at it much at the bookstore and I think I've only bought a couple of issues.

The only pattern I might be interested in is Prairie Kimono (but in a different color).  So that isn't enough for me to dish out the $7 or so dolllars it costs.

I've been trying to brainstorm what colors I would want my prairie kimono in--sad, I know Wink

I like the road to golden sweater and the fishtail tunic, but probably not enough to buy the magazine just for them.  Undecided

I was hoping there would be more patterns I liked so I would feel justified in buying the magazine for the  road to golden sweater.  Oh, well.

Not sad!  The original colors aren't that great  Undecided but I like the shape and design of it.

I like the knit coat and road to golden. I think both would be easy to figure out a pattern for though since the magazine is probably over $10 in Canada.

i like a lot of the patterns in this issue!

i bought it yesterday, and i do believe i'm going to knit those "retro feel" socks as my very first socks.  they should be like knee-highs though.

I think I like the Ingenue Blouse (it's hard to tell with the pose and the tiny pic and all, but it's promising), and Cactus Blossom has potential (again, on seeing it closer). I definitely like Breton Girl but would never wear it (horizontal stripes and all). The coat and the men's sweaters look good to me too. Although since I've got like 20 WIPs as is...

I feel like I've seen the Ingenue Blouse before.  Like in a book or something?

its the first time i have seen this mag....no i don't live under a rock! Grin

the patterns look great so I have ordered a copy, but i take the point that magazines like this can be very hit and miss so I don't tend to subscribe.

i think it looks a lot like an anthropologie sweater from last year. i'm super-excited to finally have a pattern for it!

I just picked up my copy and I love the Ingenue Blouse! I also like the Retro Rib Socks, though not in yellow and green...kinda reminds me of the socks you'd wear if you played softball/baseball.

I like a lot of the patterns, particually the Roundabout Vest, the Cinchy Hat, and the Highlands Zip. Although, my boyfriend would never wear it!

I bought this issue and like it very much. I'm making the Two-Over-Two Vest.  That will be the first piece of clothing I ever knitted.  Seems simple.  The skirt crochet not knit.  If someone with a big bust can wear a knitted top why can't someone with a big butt wear a knit skirt?

I also plan the get the last two back issues.  I know what people mean about hit or miss.  Most magazines are imo.  I wasn'r too impressed with the first issue so I won't order that one.

Breton Girl can be made in a soild color or just have contrasting color on the top and bottom.

It's okay.  This is not a magazine I like in general, too funky and impractical looking usually for me.  But I do like the mens sweaters in this one, and might buy it for those.
