I am teh noobz0rz and I'm sure this has been done before (if it has, does anyone have links?) but I would love to see someone organise a favourite book-themed swap. People could list their favourite books (and maybe even get to craft for one of them, if they could  be paired up with a partner with similar interests) and craft around that. Or something? Thoughts? Ideas? Anyone willing to participate/organise?

EDITED to add some ideas because I'm bursting a little:
It could be anything related to the book - something you think the characters might like (to wear/eat/make/do), something INVOLVING the characters, comic strips, recipe cards for any yummies mentioned, board games from or even based on the book, plushie characters, illustrations, bags for holding the books (book cosies! Cheesy), bookmarks, covers (the last few things could even just be based on your own personality, eg pin-up girl bookmarks or whatever), something to nibble on while reading, wrist warmers to make sure your hands have the strength to turn pages...there's so much possibility and it could be as big or as small as you want it to be!

"Stressed" is "desserts" spelled backwards.

I don't know if it's been done, but I would definitely be in on this one.

The possibilities are endless...

I think it could be great, although the only difficulty would be knowing the book you're crafting for...but I think this could be a swap that would be really open for everyone - I can't knit or crochet or, er, well, I'm not very well versed in most crafts but there are still plenty of opportunities, I hope  Smiley

Heck, why not swap the books themselves along with the crafts?  I don't read much because I don't know what's good...would love a good recommendation!

I was thinking about that, but either you'd have to give away your copy or else you'd have to buy one...maybe just if you haven't read your partner's book, you could check it out of the library before crafting? That way you get the recommendation, and you know what to craft for too. That could even be included in the time, an extra week or two for reading (anyone who likes War and Peace isn't allowed in  Wink) And if each person has a different book to do, the whole thing should give plenty of suggestions overall!

I dunno, I'm not sure how or if this could work but I'm really happy to hear suggestions and input, and it's nice to see interest Smiley

Ye Gods, I am SO into this!  Embarrassed
(Can you tell I used to work in a bookstore and *cough*spentmyentirepaycheckbeforepayday*cough*?)
I stood in the display room at the British Library and cried, I was so happy. Embarrassed

Books! Books are wonderful! I am a strange individual!

(PS. I'm stalking emlee_bee now! hee!)
