The Everything Harry Potter Swap (SIGN UPS CLOSED; MAIL BY 24th August)

My mom bought the first book but decided it wasn't for her. I begged her to give it to me (I was in...first? second grade?). I read part and then lost it. My third grade teacher was OBSESSED with HP, so basically everyone in the class ended up reading them. The first three were out then; I remember my mom brought my PoA during lunch one day. I got the fourth for christmas right after it came out (we reserved it at two libraries and my mom bought it--we had three copies that Christmas. My sister ended up reading all of them, so I guess she can thank me for her own Harry Potter-ness). I got the fifth the day it came out, but lost interest between the fifth and sixth ones. I bought the sixth the day it came out, only because it was there, and immediately got hooked again. I REALLY got into after that, went to the release parties for the fifth movie and the seventh book, and that's how I got where I am today!

I can thank my mother for my addiction. She bought book 1 and 2 for me for Christmas in 1998/9? I'd never heard of them before.. and I don't think they were particularly famous (at least in Oz) before book 3. I remember sitting at a friend-of-family X-mas party and (cause Christmas is hot here) everyone was running around and playing in the pool and I was consumed by this book!! Been a fan ever since!

I introduced my boyfriend... who wouldn't read the books from the start- so we watched the movies instead!
He loved them so much that he wanted to start reading the books that continued the story (book 5 & 6 at that stage).
He had to go back to England a few months ago, so we didn't get to physically share the HP 7 experience together, but he went and bought the book in the 1st week of it being out, and saw the movie.. and now wants to read them all in order.. yay!!

I'm planning on rereading the entire series after I finish my multitude of personal swaps....if I ever completely finish them.

I just started rereading the series again, now that I found my long-missing copy of SS (my mom had it.  lol)
I hated the whole idea of Harry Potter, and managed to avoid it until SS came out on DVD.  Then I showed up at my best friend's house and she was watching it.  I sat down and got hooked.  I immediately went out and got the movie and the books that were out at that time, and I've been hooked ever since.

The funny thing is, I really don't like that movie now - but then, with nothing to compare it to, it was great.  lol  I like the darker movies.

Hi Guys,
I'm hoping everyone can help me out..
I've had to find out that a few people have received via the gallery- and it's really quite confusing (not to mention a little annoying) doing it that way and having to chase people up.. so if you could please just go to the first post of this thread and see what your status is.. if it's right, then we're sweet, if you need to update it or it's wrong, please PM me with the new info.
