well, it's summer reading time at the local library which mean another ill fitting t-shirt to wear to work.  not this year, i said.  i took that ugly shirt that was too tight here and way too loose there and made it into this (courtesy of t-shirt makovers)...

a better look at the sleeve (the best part)

the graphic still leaves a bit to be desired.  bat at least the style is a bit more flattering.   Smiley

It looks great. How did you make the sleeves if you don't mind me asking...I'm looking to recon an old tee myself.

here's my best attepmt at a tutorial.  if it;s confusing i got the instructions from t-shirt makovers.  it's the juliette shirt.

the body is pretty easy.  you cut it to your size with seam allowance and sew it.

the sleeves are cut diagonally from the armpit to the top and then a slit across the top of the sleeve to the shoulder seam.  the bottom hem is cut off the shirt and then in two equal strips which you tie on the soulder.  so you have the open slit and the ties hanging from your shoulder.

these ties have the added bonus that you can tie them to your bra strap so that the wide neck doesn't show them.

i also added a decorative stitch to the neckline just to neaten it up.  does that make any sense?

Hey that's so cute, I think the graphic makes the tee it goes perfectly with the shape of the new revamped t-shirt. Maybe you just hate the design because you have to wear it for work?!!

lol.  if it makes you feel better, all the puzzle pieces say "read" in different languages.  I'm sure the backwards russian would have thrown anyone for a loop.

And I just wore this to work the other day and got tons of compliments.   Plenty of people said, "I'd wear mine if it looked like that."  Smiley
