I am having trouble purling. I do it and i comes out looking good......... for a few rows anyway then it starts to come out wierd and not look like a purl anymore. What am i doing wrong? What can i do to fix it?

Do you have a picture of what you mean, or can you better explain what the "not right" purls look like?

Are you twisting your stitches somehow?

are you purling every row and wondering why it looks like garter stitch? If you post a pic someone should be able to help.

If you are doing stockinette....make sure you are going through the same part of the knit stitch each row....preferably the front leg of the stitch. 

If not, this could possibly twist your purl stitches and make them look uneven - but - this wouldn't account for the stitches not looking like a purl anymore.

You might want to watch the way you wrap the yarn around the needle.  You might be rowing out.  I second (or third, or whatever) the call for pictures.

Be sure you are doing alternating rows of knit and purl.  (Knit one row, Purl one row) and it will look like vvvvvvvvv on one side (most of the time the right side of the fabric) and ----------- on the other side.
