It does cost...but it's less than a dollar a month or a little more depending on how many items you sell.

go to Etsy and find the link about opening a store. they have a great FAQ there. I pay basiclly $1.30 (American) every three months for mine. I only have 5 items up for sale.

as far as postage....take your item and pack it. Note the cost of the packaging. then take it to a post office and have it weighed..tell the person you want to estimate postage. VOILA! you have your shipping costs!  it's really not hard.  You're just a little nervous. Jump in there and get going!
