You did such a great job on this!  I agree with everyone else...it looks so much better than the pic in IK.  Grin  Truly lovely!

Wow, I can't believe how cute yours looks.  You all are killing me with the list of warm-weather stuff I want to make.  Just 3 balls, you say?

The main thing I'd recommend if you make this top is to gather the casing a bit before you weave in your ends. I think this looks better than relying on the ribbon to do all the gathering.

I don't understand what you mean by this.  Can you explain a little more?

Sure...the casing is formed by whipstitching your live stitches onto the backside of stitches several rows down below (see link to the pattern). If you leave the tension of this whipstitching nice and even, you get a rectangular casing that goes straight across. Once you thread your ribbon through it, you then scrunch it up. However, I thought it looked a little stiff that way. So waht I did was that after I whipstitched the casing down, I pulled on the yarn I was using. This basically formed a gathered casing--it was already scrunched up a bit before I threaded my ribbon through it. It's a really minor thing, but it just looked better and less stiff to me.

Thanks for that explanation.  Before I thought you meant you whipstitched it scrunched by skipping some stitches or something, but now it looks like you whipstitched it straight per usual and then pulled the yarn to scrunch it up.

Your tunic is lovely! And thanks for the tip -- I'm just finishing up the whipstitching on mine, so I'll pull the ends a bit before I weave them in.

Your tunic looks great!

It's inspiring me to keep going with mine - am impatient to see how it turns out.
